All the small things

There's something about this lovely Spring weather that makes me think about all the small things, and I find myself noticing tiny creatures and of course delicate new flowers.

The weather has been glorious here this week and I've been enjoying early walks with Molly looking out for more small spring beauties. The wild violet is one of my favourites.

These star shaped wild garlic flowers are found everywhere in the woods. Wild garlic has a very similar taste to domestic garlic, yet slightly milder. The leaves are delicious raw or cooked and work well in salads and soups.

The Red Campion is apparently not so common as it used to be, but we see lots around here.
